Frequently Asked Questions
Notary Services
What areas do you serve?
All of Grays Harbor County and nearby communities up to about 60 miles from Hoquiam. See the travel zones on our Pricing page. Farther locations can be quoted.
What do I need to bring?
Your complete, unsigned document and a current, government-issued photo ID for every person signing, such as a driver’s license, state ID card, passport or military ID. If a signer doesn’t have ID, call before booking so we can talk through options.
Should I sign my document before you arrive?
No. Please wait. You’ll sign in front of the notary.
How much does it cost?
$15 per notarial act, which is the Washington maximum, plus a travel fee based on your zone. You’ll see the full travel fee when you book.
Can you come to a hospital, care facility or nursing home?
Yes. The signer must be alert, able to communicate, and signing willingly. Please let us know about facility visiting rules when you book.
What are your hours? Do you take emergencies?
Weekdays 5pm to 10pm and weekends 8am to 10pm. For urgent needs outside those hours, call or text (360) 591-6336. An emergency fee of $40 applies.
Can you help with an apostille?
Yes. Kimberly can notarize your document and guide you through submitting it to the Washington Secretary of State, which issues the apostille.
Do you do I-9 employment verifications?
Yes. Kimberly can act as an authorized representative to review documents for an employer’s Form I-9.
Do you do loan signings or online notarizations?
Not at this time. All appointments are in person.
Can you give legal advice or tell me which form I need?
No. Kimberly is a notary public, not an attorney. She can’t give legal advice, choose forms for you, or help prepare legal documents. For those questions, please contact an attorney.
Can a notary refuse to notarize?
Yes. A notary must decline if identity can’t be verified, if a signer seems confused or pressured, or if a document is incomplete.
Wedding Ceremonies
What kinds of ceremonies do you officiate?
Every kind. Love is love. Kimberly welcomes all couples and all styles: civil, spiritual, religious, nondenominational, elopements, vow renewals, beach ceremonies and backyard celebrations.
How do we reserve our date?
Start with a free 15-minute consultation. When you’re ready, a 50% deposit locks in your date, and the balance is due on or before your ceremony day.
Do we need a marriage license?
Yes. Get your Washington marriage license from a county auditor before the ceremony and bring it with you. Washington has a short waiting period, so apply early.
Will you file our license?
Yes. Kimberly completes and files your signed marriage license with the county.
Can you come on short notice?
Often, yes. Ceremonies booked within 48 hours carry a $75 short-notice fee.
